The Independence Day Go 4th on the River celebration features patriotic music and dueling fireworks barges on the Mississippi River. There's live music at Spanish Plaza from noon to 9pm, when fireworks start. Free admission.
5-8 – ESSENCE Festival
Get ready for the best of R&B, hip-hop, jazz and more at 2018 ESSENCE Festival® Presented By Coca-Cola® - the premier showcase for contemporary African American music and culture. Held over Fourth of July weekend at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, this three-day party named for its founder and sponsoring magazine, combines high-octane music performances with inspirational speakers and provocative conversations about race, gender, culture, and art.
13-15 – San Fermin en Nueva Orleans
Ever dreamt of attending the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona? Here's your chance! Well, sort of. The San Fermin en Nueva Orleans takes place this Saturday, July 8th, and is a more local (and safer) alternative to the Spanish festival.
14 – Bastille Day Fete
French culture has had a major and lasting influence on the city of New Orleans since its foundation in the 17th century. Named after the Duke of Orléans, La Nouvelle-Orléans, or New Orleans, stands unique among all American cities and is the most Francophone city in the United States. From the city plan and lots, to the French Creole architecture, to the unmistakable cuisine and our city's strong personality, French influence can still be felt throughout the city today. It is no surprise that New Orleanians enjoy celebrating Bastille Day, the French National Holiday on July 14th!

Cocktail lovers rejoice! July 17 kicks off Tales of the Cocktails, the boozy event that brings together the most respected talents in mixology for six days of special events throughout the city. There's something for everyone at this world-renowned festival including a jam-packed schedule of seminars, tastings, and special events that highlight cocktails, cuisine and culture.
