Cultural excursion tours

1. St. Petersburg, Russia

Russian Culture is full of depth, surprise, wonder and mystique. The splendor of the arts is just one reason to visit Russia. Exotic architecture, opulent palaces, magnificent ballet performances and heroic visual arts are just a few of the aspects which characterize St. Petersburg. If you have any desire to join a culturally-immersive excursion to this beautiful country, consider joining this Art Routes Tour.

  • Night ballet performance at Mikhailovsky or Hermitage Theatre

Day 3

  • Day trip to Pushkin for a tour of the opulent

  • Catherine Palace

  • Lunch at the famed ethnic Podvorie Restaurant

  • Tour Pavlovsk Palace and Park, carriage ride optional

  • Dinner at L’Europa restaurant and night of intimate Tchaikovsky musical performance

Day 4

  • Visit Peterhof Palace and Monplesir Palace

Day 5

  • Visit Museum of Political History housed in former prima ballerina Matilda Kseshinskaya’s Palace

  • Lunch at Koriushka Restaurant with view of

  • Visit Yusupov Palace, one of the most magnificent private palaces in St. Petersburg

  • Folk Dance Show at Nikolaevsky Palace

  • Dinner at rooftop restaurant La Terrassa with

  • view of Kazan Cathedral

Day 6

  • Visit the iconic Spilled Blood Cathedral

  • Visit the Russian Art Museum featuring Russian classical and avant-garde art

  • Lunch at the Azerbaijanian restaurant, Baku

  • Pleasure boat ride on the Fontanka River and

  • surrounding canals

  • Exclusive private tour of Stroganoff Palace with senior curator, ending with a vodka and caviar tasting in the palace cellar

  • Farewell dinner at Russian Empire restaurant housed in the Stroganoff Palace

2. San Miguel de Allende

San Miguel de Allende is a historic hotbed of mystical and creative activity. Celebrity chefs, art galleries galore, stunning Spanish Colonial architecture, Mesoamerican pyramids, artisan markets and music everywhere makes San Miguel the perfect setting for a great solo adventure.

This luxury tour will include private tours led by expert guides, including Albert Coffee who was described by Travel + Leisure by “knowing [the Cañada de la Virgen, an Otomi archaeological site] more intimately than any other researcher.” Participants will stay in their choice of either a 5-star hotel or a luxury private home, dine in the finest restaurants, tour wineries, art galleries, cathedrals and more.
