Where to Buy New Orleans Designer Products? Hattie Sparks is the Place

We love New Orleans. And we love people who love New Orleans. That's why we love Hattie Sparks, a boutique in the up-and-coming South Market District.

Hattie Sparks: The Place To Shop for Local Designer Products

Originally opened Uptown in 2012, owner Hattie Collins Moll recognized a need for a boutique that featured local, southern, independent brands and artists. Moll realized a normal career wasn't for her, so she quit her 9-to-5 and made her dream of owning a boutique a reality. After not seeing many stores in New Orleans making a commitment to carrying more than just one or two local designers, Moll saw an opportunity to become a destination for emerging talent, especially local and independent designers from New Orleans and the South, to showcase their products.

The Texas native's goal is to offer customers a well-curated selection of products, as well as an eclectic and welcoming shopping atmosphere. It was very important to Moll that the store offer a wide range of products, and was a space where shoppers feel comfortable.

“Current, but not super trendy”

Moll and the team at Hattie Sparks strive to give customers a shopping 'experience'—to make them feel a sense that they're discovering something new and unexpected each time they visit. Hattie Sparks carries pieces and designers that have a specialness to them and fit within a certain aesthetic—"one that is eclectic but polished, current but not super trendy". Much like the South Market District, Hattie Sparks has a modern New Orleans style.

With prices in the store rarely exceeding $150 (with the exception of a few dress designers), you'll have no trouble finding pieces that look really expensive, but are actually very budget-friendly. Dedicated to showcasing local talent, Hattie Sparks carries well-designed, beautiful pieces that honor the unique culture of New Orleans.

Hattie Sparks carries many brands made in New Orleans, including Flying Fox, Xodo Botanicals, Oxalis Apothecary, Lipscape, Goods That Matter, Lionheart Prints, Oh Hi Co., Smallfires Press, The Grove Street Press, Walkingman Studios, Emma Fick, Rayne Housey, Osa Atoe Pottery, and Jolie & Elizabeth.

If you are a solo traveler visiting New Orleans, Hattie Sparks is the place to visit if you want to leave with a product that you truly could not find anywhere else. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to see new products and to get a glimpse into Hattie's personal life.
